Waves, Wind, and a Cleanup Win at Surfer’s Beach

Saturday morning of November 25, Surfer’s Beach experienced a thrilling tide and massive swell, creating quite the scene when accentuated by the wind. The waves crashing over the jetty rocks added an extra element of excitement, prompting the dedicated cleanup crew to relocate tables to avoid the spray. Despite the challenging conditions, a small yet mighty team, led by Julie and Maggie, worked tirelessly to make the beach pristine once again. A special shout-out goes to the HarborMaster team for their invaluable support in making this event possible.

Thank you also to our 38 volunteers who joined forces to tackle the cleanup. Together, they successfully collected 42 pounds of trash, 21 pounds of recyclables, and a staggering 362 cigarette butts! The collaborative effort showcased the community’s dedication and proved once again that even a small group can make a big impact when united for a common cause!

We appreciate everyone who supports Pacific Beach Coalition’s work and educational programs. Thank you for helping us to protect our beautiful ocean and coastline by donating money, time, or both! Your dollars will go towards our ongoing educational efforts (such as the Naturalists program) and our beach cleanups and habitat restoration efforts along the coastal trail. Thank you so much for any contribution: big or small!
