About the Green Team Cleanup:
Time: Every Saturday from 9am-10am. Check our online monthly calendar for exact dates. Rain may cancel event. If you’ve registered in advance, you’ll receive a cancellation notice. If you have not registered, check our calendar for the latest information.
Where to Meet: In front of Mazzetti’s Bakery located at the corner of Manor & Oceana in the Manor District of Pacifica.
Parking: Street parking and free parking lots in the immediate area of the cleanup.
Supplies:
Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own buckets and reusable gloves. Extra gloves, buckets, pickup sticks and specific tools for this site cleanup will be provided while supplies last. Because we are never sure of the weather, make sure to bring extra layers, a hat, sunblock, water and snacks.
green teamCleanup Areas:
This streetscape revitalization cleanup is centralized at Oceana Blvd from Monterey Road to Avalon, Manor east of Oceana and three large parking lots.  Expansion of the cleanup area occurs when more volunteers participate to the west side of Oceana from Monterey Road to Avalon, west on Manor to Esplanade, east side of Palmetto north and south of Manor. These areas are always in need of attention. The Green Team engages and encourages businesses, their customers and neighbors to actively participate to keep Pacifica’s Manor business district, our streets, beaches and ocean clean.
Litter:
In an hour’s time, each Green Team member can easily pick up one to two buckets full of litter including food items such as straws, napkins, coffee cups, cardboard boxes, all kinds of bags and a pervasive amount of cigarette butts. The gutters and sewer grates collect a lot of this discarded and blown litter. Bus stops and walkways along the freeway have lots of cigarette butts and small plastic. Everything picked up by the team is one less piece of litter that will enter the ocean at the end of Manor. This is a very valuable task.
Restrooms:
The nearest public restroom is at Walgreens on the corner of Manor and Palmetto.

Special Precautions:
Safety is our #1 priority. The intersection of Oceana and Manor as well as the intersection of Palmetto and Manor require thoughtful crossing. It is a high traffic area with lots of turning cars. Cross at crosswalks.

Wildlife & Habitat Protection: The parking lot behind Ace Hardware is shared by Ocean Shore School. The school is maintaining planted areas; please clean these without trampling. If you are in the mood, lend a hand to their landscaping and pull some weeds!

Be sure to read through the Cleanup Guidelines before heading out.
