Shoe barnacles at Esplanade Beach

4 people at a beach clean up

On this very warm and sunny day at Esplanade Beach we are grateful for our volunteers. We had 27 volunteers show up for the ocean and picked up a total of 72 pounds of trash, 20 pounds of recycling, 1 pound of compost along with a whopping 1,389 cigarette butts ! We also had some really interesting finds, one group brought back a shoe that had barnacles growing on it!

Thank you to everyone who came out to clean the beach and it’s surrounding streets! Happy holidays and please remember to be kind to our Earth 🙂

Hope to see you again soon at our next event:

We appreciate everyone who supports Pacific Beach Coalition’s work and educational programs. Thank you for helping us to protect our beautiful ocean and coastline by donating money, time or both! Your dollars will go towards our ongoing educational efforts (such as the Naturalists program) and our beach cleanups and habitat restoration efforts along the coastal trail. Thank you so much for any contribution, big or small!
