Youth Earth Heroes Tackle Linda Mar Cleanup

Students of The Nueva School truly showcased their dedication to preserving our planet with their recent cleanup efforts at Linda Mar Beach at our February cleanup. Their hard work and infectious enthusiasm was a joyful sight to see as they meticulously combed through trails, parking lots, shopping districts, and beach, ensuring that every piece of trash was collected. A whopping 89 pounds of waste was collected, including a hefty 20 pound metal pipe, along with 13 pounds of recycling and an astonishing 600 cigarette butts. Our young environmentalists even went above and beyond to seek out that one extra cigarette butt to hit the 600 mark!

Beyond the tangible results of their cleanup efforts, it is heartening to experience the engagement of the students during our discussion. Their passion and dedication serve as a beacon of hope for the future, and it is our hope that they are inspired to continue to be voices for positive change and advocate a greener, cleaner future.

We appreciate everyone who supports Pacific Beach Coalition’s work and educational programs. Thank you for helping us to protect our beautiful ocean and coastline by donating money, time, or both! Your dollars will go towards our ongoing educational efforts (such as the Naturalists program) and our beach cleanups and habitat restoration efforts along the coastal trail. Thank you so much for any contribution: big or small!
