More About Our Guest Speaker: Ted Cheeseman

Our special guest and speaker is Ted Cheeseman, a California native, son of a naturalist and zoology professor couple. Ted first worked as expedition staff in Antarctica in 1994 and has led expeditions there every austral summer. He is currently working on a PhD studying humpback whale population dynamics. Ted is the owner of Cheesemans’ Ecology Safaris (www.cheesemans.com) and co-founder of the marine mammal research collaboration and citizen science platform www.happywhale.com which relies on citizen science, scientists and your pictures of whale tails to identify and track whales all over the world.
