Great numbers at Esplanade beach

It was unexpectedly warm and sunny day on February 19th at Esplanade beach! We had 36 volunteers come out, from multiple groups of high schoolers, to those just out walking their dogs at the beach.

Our awesome volunteers were able to pick up 2,561 cigarette butts that are soon to be recycled! We were also able to collect a whopping 126 pounds of garbage and 12 pounds of recyclables from the streets and beach! Additionally, we were able to pick up 37 pounds of rusted metal!

Huge shoutout to all our volunteers who came out today to cleanup Pacifica! Hope to see you all again in March!

We appreciate everyone who supports Pacific Beach Coalition’s work and educational programs. Thank you for helping us to protect our beautiful ocean and coastline by donating money, time or both! Your dollars will go towards our ongoing educational efforts (such as the Naturalists program) and our beach cleanups and habitat restoration efforts along the coastal trail. Thank you so much for any contribution, big or small!
