Creating Lasting Impact At Rockaway Beach

In a remarkable display of community spirit and resiliency, 137 volunteers from various schools and communities joined forces to tackle litter along the coastline of Rockaway Beach on May 6. Through their collective efforts, over 900 cigarette butts and an astonishing 80 pounds of trash were collected!

Thank you to our volunteers from Las Lomitas Elementary school community in Menlo Park, Menlo College, De La Salle, Santa Clara College, and Notre Dame Elementary. Despite the rain, these volunteers showed up for their community and the environment.

A heartfelt shout-out goes to Lynn and Danila for their invaluable help and support throughout the event, and to the outstanding Junior Site Captains, Alyssa, Ava, and Sam. Their dedication serves as an inspiration to us all.

In a world where environmental issues persist, the efforts of volunteer events like this month’s Rockaway beach cleanup stand as a profound example of what can be accomplished through collaboration and determination. Thank you for your unwavering support and participation.

We appreciate everyone who supports Pacific Beach Coalition’s work and educational programs. Thank you for helping us to protect our beautiful ocean and coastline by donating money, time, or both! Your dollars will go towards our ongoing educational efforts (such as the Naturalists program) and our beach cleanups and habitat restoration efforts along the coastal trail. Thank you so much for any contribution: big or small!
