Bunnies Support PBC at Surfer’s Beach!

Despite the looming threat of rain, the turnout for this morning’s cleanup at Surfer’s Beach was nothing short of fantastic. Despite a brief drizzle, the sun soon emerged, and we even had the opportunity to share space with some fuzzy bunnies who were enjoying the morning behind our tables — a warm and adorable reminder of the beauty of nature that we strive to protect.

While the beaches were relatively clean, our dedicated volunteers made the most of their time, meticulously scouring the shoreline for small scraps and litter. Their efforts paid off and they towed in 50 pounds of trash, 5 pounds of recyclables, and a whopping 180 cigarette butts.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, including Alex, Maggie, and Natalie, as well as Duke at the HarborMaster offices for his invaluable assistance. With Earth Day weekend just around the corner, we eagerly anticipate our next cleanup on April 20th! We will be meeting behind the HarborMaster station, from 9:00 – 11:00 am. Don’t miss out on this big cleanup!

We appreciate everyone who supports Pacific Beach Coalition’s work and educational programs. Thank you for helping us to protect our beautiful ocean and coastline by donating money, time, or both! Your dollars will go towards our ongoing educational efforts (such as the Naturalists program) and our beach cleanups and habitat restoration efforts along the coastal trail. Thank you so much for any contribution: big or small!
