Past Event – OneOcean Festival

Summary Of This Past Event

Our volunteers really enjoyed having a table at the OneOcean event and talking to the community. The feedbacks were overwhelmingly positing so we sure hope to do it again!

Our PBC member Gianna talked with Ashley Gray and Jane Woodman from the band Slack Tide Currents to ask them about sustainable practices and the importance of our California coasts. Here is there conversation:

Gianna — Why is it important to protect and restore our coasts?

Ashley — It’s important because we are the stewards of the health of the ocean. We aren’t doing a very good job and we need to do a better job about being more thoughtful in our consumption and our destruction.

Gianna — What is one sustainable practice you think others should follow or incorporate into their lives?

Jane — Bring your own water bottles and tupperwares! It’s so easy and saves a lot of plastics from going everywhere.

Come See Us While Enjoying Some Music

We are very excited to be a part of a brand new fun and educational event happening in Half Moon Bay Saturday May 20th. The One Ocean Festival will bring together several talented local musicians, Slack Tide Currents, Buffalo Dog and Holler Folk. We will be tabling there with other like-minded nonprofits to celebrate our beautiful coastside.

So come listen to some great music, learn about some of the local environmental nonprofits, and enjoy some delicious available refreshments from the San Benito House. The event is free! Join us May 20th from 12pm to 6pm.

And bring the whole family!
