Earth Day EcoFest 2026

Happy Earth Day, Every Day, everyone.
Thank you for joining us in taking action, celebrating and demonstrating your outstanding commitment to a cleaner and healthier coastal ecosystem. We hope you enjoyed the many booths, activities, and San Pedro Creek tour, joined by more than 120 local community based organizations making impact:
| Volunteers: | 706 Earth Heroes |
| Trash: | 777 pounds |
| Recycling: | 110 pounds |
| Greenwaste: | 3,470 pounds |
| Cigarette filters: | 7,737 butts |
Thousands more joined Pacific Beach Coalition’s Earth Day EcoFest 2026 as a free, family-friendly outdoor community event. We started the day at 9AM for cleanup and habitat restoration events across more than 15 site locations in San Mateo County. Our action at Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay included outreach from Sea Hugger and Vida Verde Education, then the fun continued from 10:30AM – 1:30PM with our main festival event, co-sponsored by the City of Pacifica, at Pacifica State Beach in Linda Mar.
There was something for everyone with more than 30 booths and activities hosted by our partners including local government and community-based organizations, schools, scientists, naturalists, artists, and advocates.

Our 2026 Earth Honoree Steelhead Trout provided a welcome reminder of how our unique coastal environment supports an incredibly resilient ecosystem. With a residentpopulation of these remarkable fish continuing to spawn, swim, and survive in San Pedro Creek, we encourage everyone to learn more about the challenges and opportunities for restoring and conserving our Bay Area Coastal Watershed.
