More Than Fishing recently hosted its highly anticipated annual fishing tournament at Linda Mar State Beach. This year’s More Than Fishing Surf Fishing Tournament raised $1,261 in donations from their participants for the Pacific Beach Coalition.

It’s truly inspiring to see how much their fishermen and women appreciate a clean ocean and healthy habitat. They’re often the first line of defense against beach trash, showing their dedication to the environment.

The contest, which started bright and early at 6:30AM, required participants to document their catch for size and release. Every fish is measured and returned safely to the ocean.

Founder Jun Quitain and admin Sunshine embody their mission to create ocean stewards, and their kindness is truly infectious. They’re definitely “more than fishing” – they’re building a community that cares for each other and our precious marine world.
